After a bit of contemplation, I’ve decided to be a good sport and share this contest with you all. Remember a couple of months ago when I mentioned the Disney Princess Half Marathon? Well, the good folks over at Lady Foot Locker and Disney have teamed up to make this royal race a bit more magical and a whole lot more affordable for one lucky Princess. If you missed my initial update about this epic race and don’t care to read that long post, let me give you the quick run-down:
The fifth annual Disney Princess Half Marathon will allow runners the opportunity to run for a good cause, meet their favorite Disney characters and truly run like a Princess! Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Princess (or Disney character if you’re a guy) and lace up their sneakers for a 13.1 miles run across Disney World both starting and ending at the Epcot Center. This magical weekend will include all the magic of Disney with the bit of spark that friendly competition tends to bring. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and special awards will go to the Princesses who are super high-speed such as top five female military (yay!), overall three finishers and overall female wheelchair winner. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in read on to find out more about the contest.
As previously stated Lady Foot Locker and Disney World (with a little extra help from Cinderella) have all come together the to create an easy contest to help make the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend a bit more magical and whole lot more affordable. on 21 November, one lucky Princess will be selected to sit back and enjoy a Disney royal treatment fit for Cinderella. The grand prize includes:
- Roundtrip airfare for you and your crew (up to 4 people)
- Race entry
- Tickets to Pasta in the Park at Epcot the night before the big race
- Admission to the Race Retreat for you or Platinum Level ChEAR Squad entries for your entourage
- Meet & Greet with Jeff Galloway; Olympian and runDisney consultant
- $200 in Disney Dining gift cards
- 3-Day “Magic Your Way” theme park ticket
- 2-Nights stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Although they’re awesome these great prizes still don’t stack up to the icing on the cake. After the early morning race and surely spending the rest of the day exploring Disney World one will want to relax, right? Why not do it in Cinderella’s Castle Suite in the Magic Kingdom Park? If none of the other prizes caught your attention that one most certainly should. This is quite literally the one room at Disney World that money can not buy. Cinderella’s Suite in located in the heart of Disney World at none other than Cinderella’s Castle (the tall castle that’s in all Disney movies) and is the only ‘room’ in the entire castle! Talk about privacy. This luxurious room is a whopping 700 sq ft and features any amenity that a Princess could ask for including a full-service staff for the family. In the past Disney has awarded one-night stays in this room for contest winners and is keeping that ‘tradition’ going by refusing to let people reserve the room for personal use and only allow contest winners and hand-selected folks occupy the space.
