Ostrich Pillow

The people who hang out at Kickstarter sure do come up with some creative ideas. Can’t knock them though; more often than not the shit they create is pretty cool and this handy-dandy pillow is no different. The Ostrich Pillow by Kawamura-Ganjavian is a portable “micro environment” designed to help the user get a comfortable and convenient power nap in anywhere! Before I go on, take a look at the pics of this thing, doesn’t it just scream KAWS? Ok, back to the pillow…

Gone are the days of laying across your arms over your desk or kicking back in an office chair at the CQ/Staff Duty desk (that could be just me)! With the creation of this portable sleep system you have a nifty little micro-viroment that covers your face, ears and forearms if you see fit to block out moderate noise and keep your mitts warms. I love it! Judging by the pictures below this things seems pretty comfy although a wee bit impractical. I mean if you decide to take that with you on a lengthy plane ride or to your office I’m sure no harm will come to you, but I can’t imagine wearing that thing out in a more public place like a library. Maybe I’m just paranoid, if I am it’s the city I love that made me that way, but if you try that shit at a library or something you’re liable to wake up to an empty backpack, Apple ear buds in your ears with no iPod attached and if you’re a heavy sleeper, no wallet. Screw that! lol. It’s a pretty awesome idea though and totally kick-ass if you’re on a plane or a road trip. I’m totally gonna get one!

If you too would like to invest in an Ostrich Pillow, here’s the Kickstarter link. As awesome as the creation is, Kawamura-Ganjavian has a long way to go before reaching their $70,000 goal so feel free to donate generously! Unlike some of the other crafty creations from Kickstarter, Kawamura-Ganjavian will not have a set release date for the Ostrich Pillow. Instead, once you make a donation (and pay for shipping) they’ll ship you-your very own Ostrich Pillow; a few if you make big enough of a donation. 🙂 Check out the video below along with the link above to get more information and perhaps find the motivation to put your creative mind to work. Enjoy!
