I knew I wasn’t the only kid on the planet that wondered what things would look like if I was blessed with x-ray vision. I wouldn’t have used my super power for anything creepy or peeping tom-ish, I’d just wondered what everything looked like once the outside parts were transparent; for example, what does the inside of a television look like? I’d always been interested in technology, mechanics and shit like that but I was never quite crafty enough to take my wonders further. With that, as most kids do, I realized x-ray vision was only reserved for losers like Super Man and drove on. This guy however took that same curiosity and made it into an art form, I love it!
British based photographer Nick Veasey took common items and life events and turned them inside out, almost literally. “We live in a world obsessed with image… I like to counter this obsession with superficial appearance by using x-rays to strip back the layers and show what it is like under the surface” says Veasey; and these unique pics do just that. The boring and common place view of a Boeing jet, a man reading the news paper and my favorite, a woman walking in a high-heel shoe (I feel her pain) are stripped away and the viewer can really see what’s going on inside. With that being said, feast your eyes on the images below.
