Since Japan is one of the fashion capitals of the world it’s not shocking that Fashion Week isn’t the only time of year that’s dedicated to showing off new styles, trends and gear. For the past few of months, local Tokyo residents and fashion lovers have been participating in the Harajuku Fashion Walk. The walk was originally started to promote freedom in fashion and an overall way for Japanese fashionistas to have fun and soon evolved to a point of public interest.
Harajuku is such an amazing style. I love the bright colors, the quirky accessories and most of all, the complicated-simplicity of it all. I also love the sheer freedom of it all. Harajuku isn’t like typical American style that is bound by specific articles of clothing or accessories. Harajuku allows you to wear whatever you, however you want and where ever you want. For all of you trend setters out there, if you want to make a statement, try Harajuku. I’m willing to bet that no one will show up wearing the same thing as you, lol. Below is the video and a couple of pics taken from last week’s Harajuku Fashion Walk compliments of Tokyo Fashion.
