I know you’re supposed outgrow fairy tales when you become an adult but some of us refuse to do so. Some of us prefer to live vicariously through such tales to keep us sane through our daunting workdays, mundane tasks and seemingly endless routines. My favorite tale to live through would have to be the timeless Lewis Carroll classic Alice In Wonderland. The story of a girl falling down a rabbit hole and finding a totally wacked out world on the other side where she is the only “sane” person is a story I think most of us grown ups can relate to whether we want to admit it or not.
Moving on, Alice In Wonderland has been done and redone millions of times over by many artists, directors, video game designers and everyone else in-between all adding their own artistic spin; but I think this photo spread is pretty cool. For once, the child like innocence of this story is kept whole but the overall vibe of the shoot still gives everything a modern edge. I love it!
Russian photographer Elaina Kalis did a photo shoot starring her daughter (coincidentally named Alice) entitled “Alice In Waterland”. Here are the pics below. Enjoy!
